The Experience
Our first overseas chapter. 21 people. 2 villas. 12 nationalities. One island, one week. Long lunches. A day at sea. A closing party under projection light at the villa. Most of the group had never met before the first night. By the last one, half of them had tickets to St Tropez together for the following weekend. Nobody organised that. Mykonos was the beginning.

Most people arrive not knowing anyone. That stops being true by the second night.
The Story
21 people. 2 villas. 12 nationalities. One island, six days.
Most of them had never met before the first night.
Elysium had run three seasons of nights in London and Exeter by then. Nights work, but they have a limit. You meet someone at eleven, you get on, and then the room empties and you never see them again.
A week is different. A week is long enough for that not to happen.
We took two private villas for one of the busiest weeks of the Mykonos season. People flew in from London, Munich, Madrid, Istanbul, Los Angeles, Vienna, Dublin, and Kuwait. Some knew two or three others. Some knew nobody at all.
The days found their own shape. Lunches at Zuma that started at two and finished when somebody suggested moving. A yacht day at sea. Afternoons at the pool that became evenings without anyone deciding they had. Nights at the best beach clubs in the world.
One morning a group watched the sunrise come over the mountain from our villa's dedicated viewpoint.
Nobody was there because they knew us. That is the part that mattered. The room was picked rather than filled, and six days is long enough for a picked room to stop being a group of strangers and start being a group.
The last night was at the villa. Projection light across the walls, a set that ran late, and twenty-one people who had arrived six days earlier not knowing each other's surnames.
By the last morning, half of them had tickets to St Tropez together for the following weekend. Nobody organised that.
The group chat is still going. Someone booked a dinner in London the day after everyone landed. There is a standing invitation to Madrid, another booked trip for six people to Munich for Oktoberfest, and somebody has already proposed a Bodrum Elysium trip for next summer.
That is the whole argument for doing it again.
Cape Town is next. April 2027.
